Susan Ponting - Senior Associate
Susan’s career includes more than 16 years’ experience in journalism, public relations and special events consulting that includes positions as a researcher, reporter or producer with CBC Radio, ListenUp TV, Rogers and Shaw Cable TV, WTN and Metroland newspapers. She is a contributing editor on a freelance basis to a number of consumer magazines and still produces videos on an independent contract basis for stage and corporate assignments. Some of her most high profile interviews were of political leaders such as Israel's Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Margaret Atwood, Romeo Dallaire, Gordon Lightfoot and former Prime Minister Paul Martin.
Susan knows what it is to work as a reporter for print and broadcast news media meeting rigid deadlines on a daily basis while organizing and conducting interviews. She is a seasoned writer for news, features, magazines, audio visual scripting, advertising copy, corporate brochures and promotional materials. Her work with CG Group clients includes assisting with the launch into the United States of an Israeli pharmaceutical company, scripting and directing corporate videos, assisting with website designs and e-features, media relations for a number of professional associations and development of communications materials.
Susan conducts media training workshops and helps CEOs, executives and leaders of various organizations learn how to best present themselves and their stories to the working press. Her core competencies are writing, producing, organizing and coordinating special events as well as media relations.
