Don Gracey - Partner

Don's career includes more than 12 years' experience in senior positions in the federal government beginning as an assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, including five years in the Privy Council Office (Cabinet office and Prime Minister's department) and culminating in a two-year assignment as Assistant Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Australia and interim Secretary of the Commonwealth Human Rights Commission. He was special advisor to the Chairman of the (Saskatchewan) Crown Management Board and President of the Crown Investments Corporation.

In 1985, he joined The C.G. Group as partner responsible for the firm’s Government Relations practice. He has undertaken projects for the World Bank in Sri Lanka, the Cote d’Ivoire and Mexico. He has served as a member of a federal task force on Crown corporations and privatization, as a consultant to and on an advisory committee to the Auditor General of Canada, as a member of the Corporations Committee of the Canadian Comprehensive Audit Foundation, as Executive Director of the three Senate Special Committees on Terrorism and the Senate Committee on Security and Intelligence and led a year-long review of Ontario's agencies, boards and commissions.

His articles on various aspects of government and public policy have appeared in a number of Canadian newspapers including The Financial Post. He has been a guest commentator on CBC's The National, Commentary and As It Happens. He has lectured on government, public policy and economics at York University, Carleton University and Dalhousie University.

He was appointed the Honourary Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd FER (Combat Engineers), a reserve regiment based in Toronto in 2004.
